The General Studies curriculum offers the option of creating an individualized concentration tailored to each student’s specific needs. In consultation with their academic advisor, students select a specialization within the concentration according to their interests and professional goals. This program is designed for students who wish to gain a breadth of knowledge in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences fields.
The BS in General Studies - Individualized Studies is a transfer-friendly program - perfect for students who have a large number of credits from prior studies at other universities or colleges. Apply today and have your transcripts evaluated by an academic advisor to determine how many credits are eligible for transfer.
The full degree program is 180 quarter credits (equivalent to 120 semester credits). Breaking the year's academic work into shorter modules of 10 weeks each helps you stay focused and on track. It also adds convenience; you can take a term off during a busy period at work without losing momentum toward the completion of your degree. Since you can earn credit for prior studies, this degree is ideal if you want to transfer from other programs you may currently attend. NOTE: Students may enroll in this program only on a part-time basis.
