Admissions Criteria

A description of the proposed research project along with the research mentor’s curriculum vitae must be submitted with your application; one letter of evaluation must be from your research mentor.  Research mentors must be established researchers with a doctoral degree.  

Admission to this program requires:

  • Complete application form.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the US or an equivalent international institution.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0*(graduate degree GPAs will be considered along with the undergraduate GPA)
  • Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions (including trade schools) attended or where coursework was attempted or taken. If you do not list all post-secondary institutions on your application and these are listed on transcripts received from other institutions, processing of your application will be delayed until you have submitted the remaining transcripts. If a college or university that you attended offers the option to send transcripts in a secure, password-protected electronic format, you may have the transcript sent to customerservice@drexel.com. Candidates who received their terminal degree outside the US and are not ECFMG certified may be required to obtain a course by course evaluation from World Evaluation Services (WES).   • Current Resume.
  • Essay on past successes, goals and objectives for seeking the CRHP degree
  • Two letters of recommendation (one from your immediate supervisor and one from another qualified individual who can comment on your ability to succeed in your chosen program yet is not a peer). Drexel University Online now accepts electronic letters of recommendation. Please access the following webpage for instructions regarding their submission: http://www.drexel.edu/apply/recommend. If a recommender prefers to submit an original, hard copy letter of recommendation, please remind the recommender that it must be signed and submitted in a sealed envelope signed across the flap by the recommender.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • A telephone interview may be required as part of the admission process.
  • Students who earned a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or have worked full-time in an English-speaking country for more than two years may have this requirement waived.
  • International Applicants who are not ECFMG certified (as well as Immigrants to the U.S. and U.S. Permanent Residents whose native language is not English, and who have not received a Bachelor's degree or higher in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or the United Kingdom) must submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 550 is required for the paper-based TOEFL test and 90 for the internet-based TOEFL Test. Students who earned a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or have worked full-time in an English-speaking country for more than two years may have this requirement waived.
  • If you are an ECFMG Certified physician, please provide your ECFMG identification number with your application along with copies of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. A WES evaluation is not required for ECFMG-certified applicants. In addition, please request an Official USMLE Transcript (Form 172) from ECFMG. You are not required to take the TOEFL.
